Welcome to this first blog!

Welcome! This will be a shorter blog than the ones that are to come, I'll introduce my taste in books and authors and tell you what I'm currently reading and what's on my tbr. First of all I'll just summarize my reading taste, I read quite a big variety of different tropes, subplots and authors so it's not necessarily one specific taste but as I mentioned I read mostly fantasy. Let me list a few of my favorite authors.- I really like Stephanie Garber, Holly Black, Rick Riordan, Elizabeth Lim and Laini Taylor when it comes to YA fantasy authors. For adult fantasy I love Sarah J Maas, Rebecca Ross (although she's more a YA author, I specifically enjoyed her adult duology "A river enchanted"), VE Schwab, Roshani Choksi and Erin Morgenstern. Other authors who I've read several books from in other genres and whose writing style I really enjoyed as well, are Taylor Jenkins Reid, Holly Jackson and Toshikazu Kawaguchi. - There are also a lot of authors who I've read one or maybe two books from but that were absolutely five star reads so I prefer to name the titles of those books as I can't place any judgement on the author when I've only read one or two of their works. Here are some of those books:
If we were villains by ML Rio
A study in drowning by Ava Reid
The once and future witches by Alix E Harrow
Babel by RF Kuang
Small favors by Erin A Craig
Sorcery of thorns by Margaret Rogerson
The crowns of Nyaxia duology by Clarissa Broadbent
I really don't go to hard on books when I rate them and I honestly consider most books that I liked a 5 star read, but if I think back to reading these books I think that these are the ones that were just a little more than just enjoyable and I'd recommend these without hesitation! I inserted a fan art work from the strange the dreamer duology as that is just one of the best fantasy works I've ever read. I also read the daughter of smoke and bone trilogy in the very beginning of the year and I rated every book 5 stars in that series too. I could absolutely never pick just one favorite standalone, series or author but if I'd make a top 3 Laini Taylor would without a doubt be on the list. I think I will make an in-depth review on her as an author or on one of two series but for now I'll just say that the first recommendation I give on this blog is her work! I also want to share some of what I've read most recently, what I'm currently reading and a few books on my tbr that I'm most excited about. Recently I've been reading a little slower than I used to, not really a slump but I do feel like I'm in slump-like mood right now. That obviously sucks beause I do really want to just escape into my books. But despite the slower pace, I've still read some amazing books in the past few weeks so let me list 5 of them for you :)
The villains duology by VE Schwab (we're pretending that counts as one book)
I finally got around to reading Ruthless vows by Rebecca Ross, the second and last book in the "letters of enchantment" duology
A study in drowning by Ava Reid, I mentioned it above already but it was just amazing
Her radiant curse by Elizabeth Lim
Lastly (but this list isn't in order so it's just the final title and not the lowest rated) I absolutely loved dreams lie beneath, also by Rebecca Ross
Right now I'm reading "The tainted cup" by Robert Jackson Bennett in physical copy, a fantasy book with a lot of sci-fi elements, and I'm just starting "House of salt and sorrows" by Erin A Craig on my kindle. I'm halfway through the tainted cup and it's such a stunning book so far. I love the pacing, the magic and the writing style. I'll review it fully in another blog once I'm finished! House of salt and sorrows I can't really give any judgement on yet because I'm only on chapter 3 but I hope to get the same writing as in "small favors" because that book was an amazing fantasy standalone and I highly recommend that one. Lastly my current tbr. It's huge and includes a lot of new or unreleased titles. On my kindle I've bought "One for my enemy" by Olivie Blake. I haven't read anything written by her yet but "Masters of death" is also one of the most anticipated books on my tbr! Another one that I've been wanting to read for a while but that's been published only quite recently is "Starling house" by Alix E Harrow. I have it in physical copy and I think I might actually pick it up after finishing the tainted cup. Then two more books on my physical tbr are "The kingdom of sweets" by Erika Johansen and "Yumi and the nightmare painter" by Brandon Sanderson as I just can't procrastinate getting started on his works any longer, I've been saying I want to for over a year now... This was my first blog to give you an idea of what I read and what type of books to expect in reviews in the future. I hope you enjoyed and I'll be back soon to talk about more books :)
